After the Earth suddenly goes "silent", breaking off all communication with the colonists on Mars and stranding them on the planet, they are forced to build their own society. Over the next two centuries, they experience many triumphs and advancements, but also incessant bloodshed and wars. Despite their many trials and tribulations, the tenacity and resilience of the human spirit allows society to survive and thrive.
