Lady Kidlat Meets Her Match

Museum educator Kat Chua refuses to fall in love. Love made her mom put up with years of emotional abuse, and left her broken-hearted long after Kat's father left her for another woman. Love is a trap, and Kat would much rather remain free to pursue her secret dream to create and publish comics about Lady Kidlat, a Filipina superhero who wields the power of lightning. Psychologist Jake Rodriguez fears love isn't in his future. He's always considered empathy to be his superpower, yet he failed to prevent his own divorce. Relationships seem much simpler in the imaginary worlds of his favourite science fiction and fantasy stories. Kat and Jake's agreement is simple: one night of pure fantasy, no heartstrings attached. Except that their fantasies reveal more than either expected. And when Kat needs a psychologist to help her plan art therapy workshops, it seems only natural to give Jake a call. Working together reignites their sparks, and bonding over cats, science fiction, and Filipino cooking deepens their emotional connection. As they meet each other's family and friends, and get to know each other's dreams for the future, it's easy to see how well they fit into each other's lives.
