Treatment of intracranial aneurysms

Vascular neurosurgery in general, and surgery of intracranial aneurisms in particular, have always been perceived as being among the most challenging, but also most rewarding, branches of neurosurgery. Over the past few years, innovations and refinements in microneurosurgery, endovascular techniques and periprocedural adjuncts have resulted in a dramatic outcome improvement. Nowadays, treatment of intracranial aneurysms can be performed with very low morbidity and mortality rates. In order to consistently achieve the best outcomes possible, careful patient selection, individualized treatment and superb clinical and technical skills are required.
