Mine to Cherish

What happens when the guy fostering my dog while I'm deployed turns out to be my one-night-stand from the night before I left town? Prior to leaving town for a military assignment, I had the best sex of my life with a guy whose name I never got. Now I'm home, sleeping in with my husky who was kenneled during my six-month deployment, and waking up to an angry phone call from a guy claiming to have my escape artist of a dog. Coincidently, he's the guy who took care of her while I was gone. Imagine my surprise when I walk the couple of blocks and come face to face with the guy who rocked my world and starred center stage in my fantasies for the last one-hundred and eighty days of my monotonous life. Something about him feels like home. I knew it the night we met and kicked myself for not exchanging information. Now, I have a second-chance, but after another amazing night together he ghosts me—much like I did to him six months ago—and I'm left heartbroken, falling faster than I should have for the sexy man who feels perfect for me. Can I blame him for putting on the brakes? And if not, how much time do I give him to realize we're perfect for each other?
