Saving Little Red Riding Hood

The Big Bad Wolf lives among us, hidden. Would you like to help Little Red Hood? This fairy tale goes to the heart of so many wounded and silenced girls and boys, it encourages them to speak: it is time to tell their stories, to look for those who will listen to them. It reminds us that hope accompanies us even in the worst moments, bringing a ray of light to that dark forest; It shows us that there is a path to finish that pain and towards freedom. This illustrated album addresses, in a symbolic way, violence, mistreatment and children sexual abuse. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in five girls and one in thirteen boys are sexually abused before the age of 17. Sexual abuse, especially inflicted during childhood, condition the future mental, sexual and physical health of a person; in many cases, they remain secret even in adulthood. Prevention is the best protection against child sexual abuse. Silence is only good for the aggressors. If we do not make the problem visible, we will not be able to put an end to it. We will create a healthier and safer society for our children if we speak and overcome those taboos.
