Quando i Fleetwood Mac finirono il tour per Tusk nel 1980, il chitarrista Lindsey Buckingham non perse tempo tornando in studio, registrando quasi tutti gli strumenti per il suo debutto da solista del 1981, Law and Order. Prima della fine del secolo, Buckingham aggiunse altri due album alla sua discografia – Go Insane e Out of the Cradle – insieme a una serie di canzoni memorabili per i film, tra cui “Holiday Road” da National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983). Quest'estate, Rhino pubblicherà un nuovo cofanetto con i primi tre album solisti di Buckingham insieme a una selezione di tracce bonus 20th Century Lindsey sarà disponibile dal 14 giugno su Rhino come un set di 4 CD sarà pubblicato in agosto. Il set include gli album in studio Law and Order (1981), Go Insane (1984) e Out of the Cradle (1992), tutti contenenti audio rimasterizzato nel 2017. A questi dischi si aggiunge 20th Century Rarities, una compilation di otto brani non contenuti in un album che include mix difficili da trovare e contributi a colonne sonore, come "Time Bomb Town" (Ritorno al futuro, 1985) e "Twisted" - il suo duetto con Stevie Nicks (Twister, 1996).
