Mary Stewart

Nata nel 1916 a Sunderland, nella contea di Durham, si laureò presso la Durham University e fu docente di Letteratura inglese fino al suo matrimonio, nel 1945, con Sir Frederick Stewart. È stata tra i precursori del genere fantasy, conquistando nei decenni un vastissimo pubblico in tutto il mondo. Visse a Edimburgo fino alla sua morte, avvenuta nel maggio del 2014.
