This book is so cosy (even if there are action scenes). I feel like the perfect setting to read it and immerse in the world would under a blanket and with a cup of hot tea/chocolate.
Kai was just so smitten. He was seriously a poet, it was a treat being in his head.
Paedyn is a badass and I just love her. She’s so strong and I truly respect her.
Powerless had a lot of promise, but I found myself struggling to stay engaged throughout the read. It took me longer than usual to finish, and I often didn’t feel the pull to pick it back up.
The story blends elements reminiscent of The Hunger Games with familiar recent fantasy tropes, which made many of the themes feel quite predictable. While this may appeal to readers who enjoy those well-worn paths, I was hoping for a bit more originality and depth in the world-building.
Pacing was another challenge—the plot dragged at times, making it hard to stay immersed. On top of that, I noticed multiple spelling and editing errors that pulled me out of the narrative more than once, which was a bit disappointing.
That said, the concept itself has potential, and I can see why others might enjoy it more. It just didn’t fully land for me.
