Benjamin Alire Sáenz

1954, Old Picacho

Nasce a Old Picacho, in New Mexico, nel 1954. Negli anni '90 inizia a insegnare presso la University of texas, a El Paso, tenendo un corso di scrittura creativa. Sáenz ha vinto il PEN/ Faulkner Award e l’American Book Award con i suoi libri per adulti. He Forgot To Say Goodbye ha vinto il Tomás Rivera Mexican American Children’s Book Award e il Southwest Books Award, mentre Last Night I Sang to the Monster è stato uno degli ALA Top Ten Best Book for Young Adults, e Sammy and Juliana in Hollywood è stato finalista al Los Angeles Times Book Prize. In Italia ha pubblicato Tutto inizia e finisce al Kentucky club (Sellerio, 2014) e Aristotle e Dante scoprono i segreti dell'universo (Mondadori, 2021).
