Bambi, an acronym for Better Access to Manuscripts and Browsing of Images, is an European project approved within the framework of “Telematics applications for Libraries” with the Commission code LIB- 3114. The project implemented some modules (graphical module, word-image matching module, etc.) of a more complex Philological Workstation designed by Andrea Bozzi who is the editor of this volume. The other components of the workstation (lemmatization; OCR, restoration, etc.) will be further developed in future phases of the project.
