Colm Tóibín è uno scrittore, critico, giornalista irlandese, vincitore nel 2006, tra gli altri, dell'International Dublin Literary Award. Ha studiato Storia e letteratura inglese all’University College of Dublin. A vent'anni ha cominciato a viaggiare, girando Spagna, Argentina, Sudan, Egitto e Usa.
