Breaking Her Pattern

Senior Year 1985. Change is coming. It's time to move forward or become trapped in the past. Anxiety and fear are keeping eighteen-year-old Holly from reaching for her dreams of designing clothes and pursuing a relationship with her best friend's older brother. When her best friend comes home for Christmas, Holly sees Michael again, and he looks at her in a way that makes her hopeful that he feels the same. But Michael is off-limits, and Holly is afraid that if she tells her friend about him, she'll lose her friendship. With one friend living half-way across the country, and another drifting away, Holly feels left behind and stuck in a holding pattern. After her parents announce their divorce and her father moves to another city, Holly takes steps toward her dreams of fashion design, and dives into a relationship with Michael. When Michael announces that he wants to spend his life studying and swimming with sharks, Holly fears for his safety and questions whether she can be with him and risk losing another person she loves. In order to move forward, Holly must find the strength to reveal her relationship to her friend, support Michael as he pursues his passion, and follow her own dreams. If not, her anxiety will win, trapping her in the same old patterns.
