The Continuity Trust

Julian Park has begun to believe that love comes with an expiry date. Four boyfriends. Four departures. Every relationship ending around the same twelve-month mark. At twenty-eight, he has stopped looking for someone who will stay and built a life small enough to manage alone. Then Theo Mercer moves into his building. Theo is infuriating, warm and unexpectedly attentive. He fixes the broken washing machine. He remembers the little things. Somewhere between late-night conversations and the ordinary kindness of being noticed, Julian begins to imagine a future he has taught himself not to want. Then he discovers the paperwork. A trust established in his name. Agreements he never signed. Instructions governing encounters he believed were chance—and relationships he believed were his. Someone has been arranging his happiness. Now the memories Julian once treasured have become questions he cannot stop asking. Every departure means something different. Every tender gesture is open to doubt. And the man who made him feel understood is keeping secrets that could undo everything between them. Julian needs more than an explanation. He needs the freedom to decide what happens next. But choosing for himself means facing the people who have shaped his life, and finding out whether Theo can offer a love that asks for nothing Julian has not freely given. The Continuity Trust is an emotionally intimate, slow-burn contemporary romance about purchased companionship, devastating betrayal and the difficult courage of letting someone close when trust has become the hardest thing to give.
