Death's Obsession

"Death’s obsession" opens by projecting us into the life of Lilith, a young girl who is facing one of life’s most difficult challenges: mourning for the death of one of the most important people in her life.But if the loss of her sister is not enough, Lilith finds herself living in a relationship that has come to an end but, although in her heart she is aware of it, she cannot find the courage to end it. And in all this flurry of situations death comes into play, leaving to Lilith marks on the skin and gifts of all kinds. Although the beginning has a good pace, it is almost immediately lost. Towards the middle of the book the most important themes are left aside, replaced by pages full of descriptions on topics of little importance and small "gossips" that will never be relatively thorough, leading me to lose almost completely the attention. And from here, unfortunately, begins the decline. If before the topics of little importance take so much space, the awareness of Lilith and its consequent actions are described too quickly leading the reader to have many questions that, unfortunately, will never have answers. But the part that left me most confused, with the bitterness in my mouth and disappointment is the end. I admit that I had to read the final 5 or 6 times before I could get a part of the meaning and, despite this, for me it does not respect the expectations created. But then this book meets the expectations it creates? I’d say a 50/50. If the expectations are of a book with good spicy scenes, fast and with a barely sufficient plot then yes. If we’re more interested in the plot then, I’m sorry, but it’s a no. This does not take away the fact that it is a book that deals with heavy issues and that makes the reader understand very well the emotions of someone who lives these unpleasant situations. For this I strongly recommend reading the trigger warnings in advance.
