The Devil's Ledger: A Dark Mafia Romance

Every number tells a secret. Hers is the one the family can't afford. Iris Calloway is the best forensic accountant in Chicago, and she has just found the books that were never supposed to be found. A flawless set of figures. A hidden sheet. And in the margin, a handwriting she hasn't seen since the day her father died. By midnight she is in the back room of a Taylor Street restaurant, facing the Marchesi family and a choice: work for them, or disappear. Luca Marchesi is the family's underboss, called il Gelo, the Frost. He is cold, exact and morally gray, and he is assigned to watch her day and night. He is also the one man alive who knows exactly how dangerous the truth is, because he has been paying for it for eleven years. Forced under one roof, hunted by someone inside the family, and bound to a man who may have killed her father, Iris has one weapon: the habit of checking everything twice. But the closer she gets to the ledger's first red page, the harder it is to tell whether she is hunting Luca or falling for him. A slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers mafia romance with forced proximity, a morally gray hero, a heroine who wins with a pencil, and a family secret that is not finished with anyone. THE MARCHESI LEDGER SERIES: each book follows a different member of the family and a different secret in the ledger. Book One: The Devil's Ledger (Luca and Iris). Next: The Second House (Gianni). For readers of Sarah J. Maas, Ana Huang, Skye Warren and anyone who has ever read a spreadsheet and fallen in love with the person who built it.
