'I truly love and admire Nicole Flattery's writing' Sally Rooney 'A deft and devastating rendering of a relationship in painful decline' Jem Calder Brid and Mark have been together since school, when she was the most beautiful girl in town, and he was the star football player. They are newly engaged and on their way to a spa hotel to celebrate – so why are they completely and utterly miserable? At first, it’s the minor disappointments of hotels: tired decor, peculiar lighting, tacky guests. This is a tense and wickedly funny story about love, longing and status in our disconnected times, from one of the most exciting writers at work today. 'Dark, astonishing, scathingly funny. I was blown away' Colin Barrett 'A shrewdly observed, exquisitely layered, unforgettable portrait of lost souls' Lisa McInerney
