The Forgotten Stations

Journalist Clara Ferrier was only meant to cover the public meeting that would rubber-stamp the demolition of the old station at Vaucelles. Then, under the loose slat of a bench, she finds a small bundle the rain has never touched: a train ticket dated 14 March 1953 – the day after the line closed – a luggage label, and the photograph of a young woman laughing, a baby in her arms. Three objects. One number: 0412. Station by station, Clara follows a forgotten railway line: a halt lost in the fog, a lamp room someone still keeps, a collapsed tunnel where the water counts the seconds… all the way to a place no map shows any more – the Left Luggage at La Varenne, where everything travellers have lost is kept. Umbrellas and suitcases, of course. But also names, memories, and truths that someone left there because they could no longer carry them. There, every answer has a price. And the secret Clara is chasing is far closer to her than she imagines. Can you hold the truth without becoming the prisoner of whatever keeps it? The Forgotten Stations is the second book in The Forgotten Lines series – supernatural suspense novels set along railway lines that time has abandoned. Each book can be read on its own. Includes a bonus file with the complete timeline, Clara's notebook and an inventory of the clues, plus a short railway glossary and questions for book clubs.
