History: An Introduction to Theory and Method

A balanced and comprehensive view of a wide range of different approaches to history - from social, cultural and political history to gender, economic and world history which allows students to get a real sense of the varieties and complexities of history as well as the most recent trends, including Black Lives Matter and the impact of social media and global pandemics. Nearly all history students have to do at least one course on different historical approaches and methods, so there is high demand for an uncomplex but comprehensive textbook with global coverage like this volume. There are a few key volumes in the field, some in new edition, some new to the field. The other biggest volume belongs to Routledge and this was commissioned to take over from it in order to provide a more update to date, fresher version which has the advantage of being more engaging for students.
