The Horizon Engine

Twenty-six light-hours beyond Neptune, the Argus-9 station extracted energy from the black hole Janus for three years—until all transmissions abruptly ceased. Relativistic engineer Jonah Reyes and physicist Kaelen Park are dispatched on a high-stakes salvage operation to investigate the silence of the billion-dollar Hawking rig. Upon arrival, they encounter an impossible sight: floating unscathed within the brutal gravity of the accretion disk is a flawless dodecahedron. From inside, a broadcast echoes into the void—carrying Jonah's own voice with a warning from a future that has not yet occurred. Helios Combine sold Argus-9 as a revolutionary power collector, but the hidden logs reveal a darker purpose: the station wasn't constructed to research Janus, but to call out to it. Event Black wasn't a system breakdown; it was the signal being answered. With time breaking down—where minutes aboard the rig translate to hours in deep space—Jonah and Kaelen discover the truth behind the forge at the horizon. It is a cosmic engine designed to devour information and overwrite history to preserve its own existence. Worse still, Helios plans to sacrifice Earth into its core to observe the results. In The Horizon Engine, stopping extinction means plunging straight into the heart of collapsing physics, to eradicate a future that has already begun to bleed into the present.
