The Key to the Gospel of Thomas
The Gospel of Thomas is a collection of the sayings of Jesus spoken while he lived and written down by the author who is named Didymos Judas Thomas, perhaps the same Apostle Thomas or someone that called himself by that name to give the text authority, scholars are unsure on this matter, but all agree the redemption principle it outlines is radically different from that espoused by the Church today. It does not spell out the life of Jesus in fact it is self evident that this is it not what is important, it concentrates on the hidden mysteries that Jesus taught to the worthy, his disciples. These mysteries are expounded in 114 sayings the last few of these being an addition. While some sayings are similar to those found in the canonical Gospels the majority are not, and this makes the Gospel of Thomas so special, we have another dimension. This is the 'Gnostic Jesus' needless to say HE has found theologians wanting, having the view it much safer to leave any interpretation of these 'Sayings' well alone, while some making an attempt have based theirs on matching text found in other Gospels. While such a framework for exposition is sound it does not reveal the 'Gnostic Jesus'. Clearly we have a dilemma the Gnosis of Gnosticism eradicated by the Church cannot by the Church, be the one to fathom that which it never understood and has avoided. We cannot expect the Church to shed light on that which it has deliberately preferred hid. Only a Gnostic can interpret text that is spiritually 'Known' through experience. Delineation is the term applied to the generally accepted interpretation of the specific influences, regard orb position, aspect between planets, or a configuration of planets. My findings reveal the origins of these sayings are found in astrological delineations based on the Moon, the ancient system of astrology. Astrological delineations formed by Moon aspects in the days after illumination in a horoscope for the state of Gnosis.
