Ishiguro Kazuo, ci fa vedere il mondo attraverso gli occhi di una innocente e curiosa intelligenza artificiale creata per intrattenere bambini, un AF (Artificial Friend). Klara, la nostra protagonista, passa dall'osservare il mondo da una vetrina di un negozio, al viverlo come AF della giovane, malata e schietta Josie. All'inizio il libro non mi ha presa particolarmente perchè stavo cercando qualcosa di più movimentato e accattivante, tuttavia il ritmo calmo del libro mi ha fatto apprezzare ciò che invece avrei probabilmente divorato. La trama non è fine a se stessa ma scorre seguendo i sentimenti dei personaggi e le loro interazioni, i quali cambiano e si evolvono con il tempo. Perchè, come "Klara and the Sun" ci insegna, le persone per quanto si amino, sono "bound to go their separate ways". Infine, ci tengo a dire che è un libro molto piacevole, ma che tuttavia non mi ha lasciato particolari picchi d'emozione che mi riporteranno più avanti a voler rileggere determinati capitoli. L'inglese è molto semplice e schietto, io con C1 ho letto senza problemi. The protagonist, Klara, goes from viewing the world from a shop window, to live it as the AF of Josie, a young, sick and blunt girl. At first the book didn't take my interest, since I was looking for something more "fast". Still, the pace of the book made me appreciate it more. I enjoyed the plot flow with the characters' feelings and their interactions as they change growing up and old. Because, as "Klara and the Sun" taught us, people, despite their love for each other, are "bound to go their separate ways". To wrap it up, I would like to add that I really enjoyed the book, but still it didn't leave especially strong feelings that will make me re-read it in a few months or years. It's beautiful in its simplicity.
