The Last Snowfall

THE LAST SNOWFALL By Ari Nordvik In Vintervik, winter does not bury the past. It preserves it. When a young woman is found murdered beside an abandoned lighthouse after the first snowfall, Detective Liv Anderssen is called to the scene. In her hand is a small silver key engraved with a single number: 17. The number means nothing to Liv—until she discovers that it is connected to a seventeen-year-old disappearance that has haunted Vintervik for years. Maja Berg vanished without a trace when she was fifteen. No body was ever found. No explanation was ever accepted. And now, someone appears determined to make sure the truth remains buried. Liv's investigation leads her to Elias Berg, the quiet and mysterious brother of the missing girl. He has returned to Vintervik to restore his family's isolated mountain hotel, but he is carrying secrets of his own. Between Liv and Elias grows a dangerous attraction neither of them can easily resist—and the closer they become, the more Liv suspects that Elias knows far more about Maja's disappearance than he has admitted. Then Liv discovers something impossible. Maja may still be alive. Old photographs begin appearing. Hidden recordings reveal conversations Liv was never supposed to remember. A mysterious archive contains altered identities, missing children, and secrets connected to Liv's own family. And the deeper Liv searches, the more disturbing the truth becomes: Her father's greatest secret was not what he knew. It was what he did to protect her. Someone has spent seventeen years controlling the story of Liv's life. Someone knows why Maja disappeared. Someone knows what happened to Liv's brother. And someone is still watching from the shadows. As the frozen fjord closes around Vintervik and another snowfall approaches, Liv must confront the secrets of her childhood, the disappearance that started everything, and the man she is beginning to love. Because some truths can survive for decades beneath the ice. But once the snow begins to melt, they cannot be buried again. The Last Snowfall is a gripping Scandinavian romantic thriller filled with murder, hidden identities, family secrets, forbidden memories, atmospheric Nordic suspense, and a slow-burning romance that unfolds against the haunting beauty of Northern Norway.
