I stg, at some point I fell asleep while listening to the audiobook (and it's not the voice actors' fault, they were great). NOTHING HAPPENED!! I was bored 90% of the time. I even skipped the smut scenes because I wanted to finish the book faster. The moral of the story is that, in dire times, indulging in patricide is the right choice. And sometimes it should happen sooner rather than later. If Acker had let her kill his father in the previous book, I'd have been spared from this thing. The plot was all over the place and it all got resolved in the last 50 pages. It doesn't even make sense... At least Messer is alive. I had the most fun whenever he was on the page. I liked Irina too. She undoubtedly deserved better, poor woman. She was treated horribly by everyone, and all she wanted was to be loved and not be miserable. Is that too much to ask?! I didn't like Acker in book 1, and I still don't care about him in book 2. The only thing he did in this book was tell us how in awe he was of Jo. After listening to the epilogue, it's pretty clear we'll get Messer's book. With all the affection I have for this character, I couldn't care less. I don't think I will be able to muster a single ounce of interest when his book comes out. Peace out ✌️
