Nighthawks

Synthetic armies. A police state. An ambitious madman. Rebels fed up with this shit. Conthan was supposed to be nobody. A sarcastic art kid with a paintbrush, in an America that stopped being free. Then he opens a portal for the first time and cuts a Marine in half. Now the synthetic army that terrorizes the country has named him public enemy number one. Running is the smart move. But a letter from a dead psychic, a woman the government executed as a terrorist, points him at the one place no Child of Nostradamus escapes. It's where they took his best friend and it's where the government studies people like him. The Warden who runs the Facility isn't looking for a cure. He savors torturing his subjects to test their abilities. His plans for the broken Children in his cells go far beyond the prison walls. Conthan isn't the only one who got a letter. In the irradiated wasteland of New England, fugitives have spent years hiding on the fringes of a country that wants them dead. Their letters all say the same thing: find Conthan. In a group of hardened survivors, he'll become their heart. They're done running, and they're pissed. The Synthetic Wars is a dystopian sci-fi series introducing the Children of Nostradamus Universe. Perfect for readers of X-Men: Days of Future Past who want to know what a person does when the world pushes them too far.
