One of the most accomplished lutenists performing today, Ronn McFarlane is largely responsible for bringing the lute into the musical mainstream and making it accessible to a wider audience. Recently, Ronn has been engaged in composing new music for the lute, building on the tradition of the lutenist-composers of past centuries. His original compositions are the focus of the CD "Indigo Road," which received a GRAMMY Award Nomination for Best Classical Crossover Album in 2009. For "One Morning," Ronn brought together a group of exceptional talents to form Ayreheart. This ensemble is dedicated to performing Ronn's original music which is a unique blend of folk, classical, jazz and bluegrass genres. Ayreheart is comprised of lute, harp, flute, fretless bass, percussion and vocals.
