The Punchdrunk Enrichment Encyclopaedia

The Punchdrunk Enrichment Encyclopaedia is the definitive book on Punchdrunk Enrichment, providing the first full account of Punchdrunk Enrichment’s history, productions and pedagogy. The book chronicles Punchdrunk Enrichment’s journey, from its beginnings within Punchdrunk – the pioneering British immersive theatre company – to becoming an independent charity in its own right, one that takes its inimitable immersive form into educational, community and family settings with transformational outcomes. This encyclopaedia is unique in documenting the evolution of Punchdrunk Enrichment’s ‘Immersive Learning’ approach amid its wider practice and the first book to share the remarkable discovery of ‘Weevillania’. The encyclopaedia benefits from unrivalled access to company archives and the collective memory of its creative team alongside teachers, artists and stakeholders who have collaborated with the company. The interactive encyclopaedic format invites readers to navigate their own journey through the concepts and contexts that underpin Punchdrunk Enrichment’s work. This book is a celebration of all the people and projects that have put Punchdrunk Enrichment’s work on the map. Compiled to be useful to teachers, students and researchers, The Punchdrunk Enrichment Encyclopaedia is intended for those interested in theatre, education or community arts in general and applied immersive practice in particular. Written for audiences and teachers who have dared to play with Punchdrunk Enrichment across the years, it is equally offered to the curious; those adventurers willing to be immersed in Punchdrunk Enrichment’s world.
