RARE EARTH ELEMENTS (REE) AVAILABLE IN INDIA AND SURROUNDING COUNTRIES Permanent magnets are essential to modern technology, powering smartphones, electronics, medical devices, and defence systems. Their production depends on rare earth elements (REE), making these resources increasingly important for technological and industrial development. India possesses significant reserves of rare earth oxides (REO) in its beach sands and hard-rock deposits, particularly in minerals such as monazite and xenotime. Although the country has limited heavy REEs, it ranks among the world's leading holders of REO reserves.
