Screen Time Standoff

It's 8:47 PM, again, and you're standing in the doorway repeating yourself for the fourth time while your ten-year-old negotiates for five more minutes like a seasoned attorney. Or it's the car ride home from a friend's house, and you're hearing, again, that literally everyone else already has a phone. Somewhere between ages nine and thirteen, screens stopped being an occasional treat and became the terrain of a daily negotiation you never agreed to have - and nothing you've read tells you what to actually say or do about it. Screen Time Standoff is the tactical guide to that exact fight. Not a case against screens, and not another warning about what they're doing to kids' brains - a concrete playbook for the decision and the daily battle that come with the 9-13 age band specifically. Inside, you'll learn: How to actually decide if, when, and what kind of first phone your child is ready for - basic phone, smartwatch, or smartphone Whether "everyone else has one" is even true, and how to answer it without caving or dismissing it How to explain, in words a nine-to-thirteen-year-old will actually get, how algorithms are built to keep them scrolling How to build a family tech agreement your kid helped write and will actually follow The exact shutdown script for ending screen time without a nightly meltdown What to do in the moment when the meltdown happens anyway, and how to hand out consequences that teach instead of just punish Written for parents who are done debating philosophy and ready for scripts, systems, and a limit that actually holds - tonight, and every night after.
