They built him to kill. They switched him off and hid him in a small town. They took three years of his life and threatened to take his family. Now he's awake, and he's coming for them. Cooper Fox has no past and nothing left to lose. Mary and the kids are safe in witness protection, out of his reach, and he's alone in a world he still can't remember. He pays his way robbing people who deserve it, and he spends his nights breaking into places nobody should be able to break into. Tonight it's the Baltimore lab of Triple Helix, the company that made him. Somewhere in the files he walks out with are the donor and the surrogate who produced Patient Fox, Cohort Seven. His mother and father. By dawn, a kill team is coming over his gate. The hunt takes him from a trailer park in Ohio to a canal house in Miami, and on to an exclusive fertility clinic on the shores of Lake Champlain where the security guards carry guns under their suits. Every step he takes gets someone hurt. Every answer he finds costs more than the last. And he can't do it alone. His only way in is Kristin Hegel. Ex-CIA. His old partner, his old lover, and the woman who helped lock him in a chemical cage for three years. She says she wants payback too. He believes about half of that. The Russian he owes a very large favour believes even less. At the end of the road waits a snowbound resort in the Adirondacks called Eden's Door, where a room full of billionaires have paid a fortune to cheat death. Cooper's there to make sure they don't. Sleeper Agent: Vengeance is the second book in John Birmingham's Sleeper Agent series, a fast, violent and darkly funny action thriller about genetic engineering, illegal human experiments and the ultra-rich. For fans of Jason Bourne, Jack Reacher and Mark Greaney's Gray Man. It picks up after the events of Sleeper Agent, and it's best read in order. Scroll up and grab it now. Cooper Fox is done waiting.
