    Having read two other books written by Eowyn Ivey, this one again has blown me away by the beautiful prose. It is truly gratifying to come across a book that evokes the senses as this one does. I loved the descriptions of the Alaskan wilderness throughout the seasons, the hardship endured living in the snowfilled fields of the Alaskan homestead, and the bonds of friendship, love and trust that tie together friends and family.
