The Storms To Come

“There are few authors who can twist the ordinary into such frightening and compelling scenarios, and Mindy Mejia tops that list.”—William Kent Krueger A PhD student disappears before a university research trip into the notorious Tornado Alley, leaving a physicist and a psychic racing to piece together his final hours in the latest thriller in the bestselling Iowa Mysteries Series Make no assumptions. It’s the most important principle of science, and as an atmospheric physicist, Dr. Eve Roth should wholeheartedly believe in it. But the mere concept of Jonah Kendrick, a psychic private investigator, goes against everything Eve has thought to be true. And then she went and fell in love with him. When a student at the University of Iowa vanishes right before a vital research trip, the remaining students and faculty all have something to hide. The university withdraws funding for the trip, forcing Eve to participate in a storm-chasing documentary with Tripp Altmann, a once-respected scientist who's more interested in fame than facts. While Jonah and the rest of the Celina Investigations team search for the missing student, Eve uses the cameras to uncover the research team’s secrets one by one. At the same time, Jonah is increasingly plagued by dreams about his dead niece, who seems to be telling him something from beyond the grave. Hyper-immersive and wildly tense, The Storms to Come explores the lengths we will go to protect the ones we love.
