Tango and musicality. A guide to learn to dance to the music

"Tango and Musicality" is both a method and a didactic manual. With the term "Musicality", I intended to define an interpretative process of harmonious movement, capable of blending rhythmic steps and "tuning" them to the music. The body has no musical scales, yet it can be used as an instrument that produces movements which combine with the music.The text uses accessible language and terminology familiar to dancers, making it suitable for everyone, including those without any musical training. The topics are illustrated through graphic diagrams and specially created musical examples, which can be listened to by scanning the dedicated QR codes.The book is divided into 18 chapters, highlighting the steps of: half‑time, single time, double time, off‑beat, habanera rhythm, syncopation, traspié, arrastre, the 3‑3‑2 rhythm, corrida, corcheas, musical phrasing, pauses, and embellishments.The method is suitable for all dancers—from beginners to advanced—easy to follow even independently, and equally useful for teachers, who can convey its concepts through the many examples included.
