Two volumes (289x195 mm). With 35 chromolithograph and 51 photogravure plates and 12 maps. Contemporary green cloth, lettering pieces on spines. A very good copy. First edition. This work was issued in nine parts from 1907-1914. “Howard's major work combined very fine chromolitho plates with a detailed and pioneer account of the behaviour of this family” (Tate).
