The Threshold

Four strangers. Seven days in a secluded Tuscan farmhouse. An inheritance from a man none of them remembers. Private investigator Francesca Tanzi, wedding planner Chiara Benedetti, architect Lorenzo Ricci, and chef Sandro Fioravanti are summoned to La Soglia, an old farmhouse near Montalcino. Vittorio Mancini has named them equal heirs to the property, even though none of them knows who he is. The will comes with one condition: all four must remain at La Soglia for seven consecutive days and seven consecutive nights. If even one of them leaves, they all lose everything. What begins as an inconvenient week among strangers soon becomes something else. Behind a curtain, beneath a trapdoor, inside locked rooms and boxes of old photographs, the house begins to reveal a history that belongs not only to Vittorio, but to them. As suspicion gives way to trust, the four uncover family secrets, unexpected connections, and the possibility that belonging can be discovered as well as inherited. Set in the Tuscan countryside and told with warmth, dry humor, and a slowly unfolding mystery, The Threshold is a character-driven story of memory, friendship, love, second chances, and the hidden past that can shape a life long before we understand it.
