The Tower

From beloved comedian and New York Times bestselling author Jamie Loftus comes The Tower, a forbidden love story between an architect and the building of her dreams. If you build her, she will come. Ariel Anshelm is an architect with a secret: she’s fallen in love with her own blueprint. Alma is a strange, sloping thirteen-story building who’s lived in Ariel’s imagination and designs for over a decade. In order to keep her taboo desires a secret, Ariel marries Harry Anshelm, a nepo baby architect who serves as a decent cover for people to think she’s attracted to things that have a pulse. Ariel knows her love for Alma could ruin her career, her marriage, and her life. But everything changes when an old-money Boston family needs a fresh look for their new headquarters and they approve Ariel’s design for construction—Alma is going to be real. They can finally be together. That is, if Ariel and Alma’s relationship can survive a year of construction without the rest of Ariel’s life collapsing to its foundation. Heartsick and sexy, absurd and sincere, The Tower is a subversive love story about an objectum sexual and the object of her affection. It will tear down your walls and build them back up better. “One of the freshest and most insightful new comedic voices of this decade.” —Lindsay Ellis, New York Times bestselling author of Axiom’s End
