In an old farmhouse at the edge of a rural valley, Dr. Skip keeps a study most people never see: a room of instruments, specimens, and a curiosity that has always bent toward the places others look away from. When a college student named Evan Finch arrives to deliver pig heads for dissection practice, he is drawn upstairs for what seems like an afternoon of scientific conversation. It becomes something else entirely. As the visit turns strange, and then frightening, a third figure enters: Marcie, the doctor's quiet, watchful sister, whose calm concealment of purpose is more unsettling than anything her brother has said.
