To celebrate legendary artist Ryuichi Sakamoto’s 70th birthday, Milan Records is thrilled to release A Tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto – To the Moon and Back. In close collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto’s management, this album is a collection of new remodels (remixes) covering Ryuichi Sakamoto’s vast discography produced and interpreted by some of the most cutting edge, contemporary electronic artists and composers. This project is a true family affair – all these artists have a personal and artistic connection with Ryuichi Sakamoto . His work has been a strong inspiration in their career. They are also artists that Ryuichi Sakamoto personally admires creatively. The artists were given full access to Ryuichi Sakamoto’s discography. They all hand-picked the tracks they wished to re-work. This unique collection features remodels by the likes of Thundercat, Devonte Hynes, Hildur Guðnadóttir, The Cinematic Orchestra, David Sylvian, Electric Youth, Cornelius and many more.
