True Crime

Seacargo, Michigan, is a city built on lies. A decaying industrial graveyard where the fog goes beyond just rolling in; it swallows secrets, shipments, and people. K.J. Blackwell was once a man of the law, a detective who believed the badge was a shield. But after reporting the brutality of his own colleagues, the system chose to purge him. Now a disgraced private investigator operating out of a cramped office and a digital forum called Cargolist, Kenji takes the cases the police are paid to ignore. When a desperate mother begs him to find her missing son, Kenji is pulled into a nightmare that spans the highest corridors of power. What begins as a search for a runaway leads him to "The Shepherd's Fold," a sanctuary that is actually a sorting center for the innocent. From there, the trail leads to Lumina Pharmaceuticals and their "compliance pills," to a global logistics ghost named Chen Wei, and finally to the horrifying luxury of Island Haven, a private paradise where the city's elite play god with the lives of "Grade A" assets. In a city where the law is a fence designed to protect the predators, Kenji must decide how much of himself he is willing to burn to bring the truth to light. Because in Seacargo, the only way to find the truth is to be willing to dig through the filth until your fingernails bleed.
