Without All Remedy

David Sinden used to be a senior advertising manager in London. He now works in a local supermarket after suffering a stress-related breakdown. Long divorced from the erratic Lizzie, he has remarried. His new wife, Sally, is a schoolteacher with twin teenage sons. Helped by his unconventional therapist, he's close to a full recovery. But, standing in its way, are the stresses he faces from his step-sons' behaviour, his sense of failure and his inability to get on with his unsympathetic and querulous father. His problems are made worse when unexpected events suddenly threaten his and Sally's future security. Lady Macbeth said, `Things without all remedy should be without regard.' David has to find a way to apply this maxim to his own life. It's not easy.
