Norman Stone

1941, Glasgow

È uno dei maggiori storici britannici. Ha insegnato Relazioni internazionali presso la Bilkent University di Ankara, dove vive e dirige il Turkish-Russian Centre. Negli anni tra il 1984 e il 1997 è stato professore di Storia contemporanea alle università di Cambridge e Oxford.Tra le sue numerose pubblicazioni ricordiamo: The Eastern Front 1914-1917 (che ha vinto il Wolfson Prize for History nel 1976), Europe Transformed 1878-1919 (1983), The Other Russia (1990), The Russian Chronicles (1990), The Atlantic and Its Enemies (2010). Per Feltrinelli ha scritto La seconda guerra mondiale. Una breve storia (2013) e La prima guerra mondiale. Una breve storia (2014)
