Write It Anyway
You are not a bad writer. You are unbriefed. If your job is engineering, operations, nursing, the trades, or analysis, the week still fills with writing: emails, tickets, status notes, and short how-tos. The work is already done. The blank page is not. This book is for people who would rather finish the job than describe it. The method is short on purpose. Fill a six-line brief: who, ask, facts, tone, length, and risk. Ask an AI tool for a draft. Spend five minutes cutting, checking facts, and checking tone. Then send. You do not need a prompt library. You do not need to enjoy writing. Inside you will get: The six-line brief you can say out loud while the kettle boils Full stealable emails for a request, an update, and a pushback Ticket and incident notes a stranger on another shift can pick up Status updates a manager can repeat in a hallway Short how-tos that stop the same doorway explanation twice A five-minute edit pass and the phrases that get people in trouble A swipe file of your good sends, plus a two-week install on live work Every example is spoken as a complete message you can steal. Change the facts. Keep the bones. The book is written so it can be heard: few tables, no screenshot chapters, no cute pep talks. Read this before you paste anything into a tool. Do not put confidential, personal, client, patient, student, or other regulated data into public AI tools. Your employer's policy wins over every suggestion in this book. Tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and Gemini are named as examples only. Nothing here is a guarantee of performance reviews, promotions, or any job outcome. You remain responsible for what you send. If you have been staring at "Hi" and deleting it, start with the brief. Then write it anyway.
