The Yellow Perspective

A deeply personal and compassionate exploration of masculinity and mental health in America and a call for a new path forward From Kevin Kreider, mental health advocate and television personality (The Traitors, Bling Empire) The Yellow Perspective explores social barriers and emotional challenges men face in a society still committed to antiquated forms of masculinity. Kevin Kreider draws on his life as a transracial adoptee, his struggles with identity and belonging, and his hard-won recovery to argue that rigid expectations around masculinity are shaping men’s mental health. Kreider traces the cultural biases that have distorted masculinity, with a particular focus on how it is understood and expressed in Asian American and Asian cultures, where emotional vulnerability has been discouraged. These pressures have shaped a silent struggle that many men, not only Asian men, face in reclaiming their relationship with masculinity. He presents a healthier vision of masculinity that allows strength and vulnerability. A moving call for honesty, connection, and change, The Yellow Perspective shows what manhood can become when it is rooted in truth, empathy, and wholeness.
