The Address Hour

A Sixty-Minute Ritual That Gives One Homeless Object a Place You Can Run This Week Without a Joy Test A sixty-minute placement for one thing that has been living on a chair. Same clock time. One object you can hold. One sentence a half-asleep person could follow: room, furniture, spot. You put it there, leave the room, and prove you can find it. Then you stop, even if a book about the rest of the house is still on the nightstand. This is an operating system for ordinary objects: which thing counts, which stall is pretending to be a standard, what you are not allowed to buy, and a hard rule that you do not open a second drawer. It is not a feeling test, not a once-and-for-all category weekend, not a note for your heirs, and not a meeting about who does the chores. A pen, a timer, and one homeless object — then you put the pen down. Includes a fifteen-minute quick-start, in-chapter worksheets, a twenty-five-minute short day, brakes for shared homes, medicine, legal papers, and grief, a four-week sprint score, worked weeks, season notes, thirty address shapes, and a photocopy appendix: Object Card, Address Card, Bin Fence, proof log, sprint strip, and a brake check. Not therapy, medical, legal, or estate advice. The author is not a therapist, physician, attorney, or professional organizer. Do not use this hour to throw away someone else's things, to sort medication, or to draft a will. Do not aim it at a chore chart, a bank statement, or a difficult conversation. A blank week is allowed. A second object is not.
