Antiracism Nursing and Midwifery: From Praxis to Action

Many nurses and midwives, qualified or in training, and their patients, experience racism in the healthcare system. This change-oriented book, based on the knowledge and experiences of people who have lived experience of being Black and minoritised bodies within the professions, and scholars who write and research on the topics, seeks to challenge the status quo. Exploring the Western-centrism of contemporary healthcare and education that contributes to racialised and health disparities, this innovative ground-breaking book explores the historical and theoretical context of racism in contemporary nursing and midwifery. It goes on to look at the contribution that leadership and education can make to antiracism changes in practice.
