The Ashen Inversion
The spectrum is bleeding. The land is forgetting its name. For centuries, the vibrant forest of the Silent Wood has lived in a perpetual, warm emerald twilight, its life cycle sustained by the unbroken rhythm of the Emerald spectrum. But the ancient balance of the Realm of Anthorra has been violently broken by greed. In the north, the mountain Dwarves mine the blue kinetic energy lines to power their great engines. To the west, the Dragon-kin privateers dredge the volcanic red ores to fuel their commerce. By mixing and over-extracting these raw cosmic wavelengths, the land is losing its memory of what it was supposed to be. Out of this empty, existential amnesia crawls The Ashen Inversion—a flat, silent, two-dimensional white fog that strips the texture of reality as it advances. Wherever its chalky tendrils touch, the vibrant green canopy and the golden grasslands do not rot or brown; they petrify instantly into brittle, monochromatic gray stone-ash. And from the depths of the void, the Greylings slide—hollow, color-drained husks of things that once had a name, wandering the dead fog because they have forgotten how to exist. When the bleaching wave swallows her childhood home, the Sylvan Fae warden Fianna is forced to flee into the boundless gold grass of the steppes. There, her path collides with Torren, a proud, nine-foot-tall centaur stargazer tracking the rapid disappearance of the northern constellations. To survive the encroaching void, this mismatched, non-human fellowship must bridge centuries of cultural division and master their cross-universe artifacts: Fianna's ancestral Split-Heart Claddagh Ring and Torren's gold-channeling Topaz Star-Token. Their desperate tracking quest will drag them from oversized turf-burrows into subarctic tundra ravines, and straight into the roaring, sapphire-lit clockwork vaults of the mountains to forge a legendary Prism Light. But the final, signature Wavelength Twist awaits. For when the light refracts, the fellowship will discover that the boundaries of reality are far more fluid than they appear—and that the ancient field they are fighting to fix was never an ecological blight. It was a decaying planetary shield.
