Broken Vows

He walked me to the altar they built to kill me. And I told him not to miss. At dawn the Hemlock Court will renew a two-hundred-year-old pact with my blood, and the man I love is the one they've ordered to deliver me to the knife. He says he can't tell me his plan. He says it's the vow. He says trust me with his mouth and I understand to the people who want me dead. So I stopped waiting to be saved. What happens at that threshold breaks everything: his vow, their rite, the pact that has kept this place fed for two centuries. We walk out of the fire alive and barely, and into a world that is suddenly far more dangerous than the one we set on fire, because some bargains were never meant to go unpaid. Now we're running. Now I'm learning what it cost him to break the thing that made him theirs. Now an oath older than the vow is coming for what it's owed, and when it does, Lucian Thorne is going to do the one thing I will not be able to forgive. I came to Blackthorn to avenge my sister. I'm beginning to understand I may lose everyone twice. Broken Vows is Book Three of The Hemlock Court, a five-book dark academia romance saga for readers 18+, and the darkest turn yet. It ends torn apart; the happily ever after is earned in the finale. Full content note inside.
