Buddy and the Whispering Forest

Use this as the book description: Before Buddy found the Whispering Forest, he lived in a small dark room with no windows. No kindness. No hope. Just waiting. Then one stormy night, a door came open. What follows is the journey of a little border collie who escapes into a world too loud and too fast, who walks a long highway with nothing but hunger and a quiet voice inside him saying keep going, and who finally finds his way to the edge of an ancient forest where something unexpected happens. The forest doesn't chase him. It doesn't ignore him. It simply waits. Inside, he meets Sage Nut, a wise old squirrel in a monk's robe who sits nearby and asks no questions. He meets Finn the fox, who teaches him to hunt and to trust. He meets Willow, Pebs, and Tully, creatures who show him that belonging is real and that friends don't leave. And when the forest needs protecting, Buddy discovers that the bravest thing he has ever done requires no teeth at all. Only heart. Buddy and the Whispering Forest is the second tale in the Whispering Forest Stories series by Gil Edwards, a gentle, quietly powerful story about survival, healing, and the long road home.
