Caring for Mother

This is the true story of a war widow and her little girl and the close bond that grew between them when they lost the father and husband that they loved. It is also the story of that same mother's seven year decline in the care of her daughter and the desperately slow journey to her death at age one hundred and one. Both stories are told with absolute honesty, compassion and humour. The vulnerability of a child in the adult world resonates with the same vulnerability for the elderly and infirm. But as mother cares for daughter and then, decades later, as daughter cares for mother, the strongest theme emerges; that love plays such a powerful part.
