The Cold Mercy

Gid wants justice. Donte wants revenge. Someone is going to die for the difference. Melina was a woman Gid Kane knew a long time ago. Now she’s dead in Nairobi, and the case is closed in eighteen hours. Officially a robbery. Unofficially, the people who made sure nobody looked twice got very rich. Gid doesn’t call the embassy. He makes one call. Donte already knows. He’s already grieving. For once in their history, Gid is the one showing up second. The trail takes them through Nairobi’s back alleys and into a network of pharmaceutical trials that officially don’t exist. Bad men need convincing. Gid and Donte do what they do best: take care of problems. Sometimes with a fist, sometimes with something more final. A burned journalist and a whistleblower are pulled into the hunt, knowing exactly what it would cost. At the center of it all is Calvin Weston: polished, reasonable, untouchable, and absolutely convinced he’s the hero of the story. Weston belongs in a courtroom. Donte wants something faster, and a lot more permanent. Gid has always known Donte would kill for him. He just never imagined he might have to stop him. Fans of Lee Child will tear through it — readers of The Constant Gardener will feel its teeth.
