Collins Cambridge International AS & A Level

The Collins International AS English General series provides an easy-to-use, international course that supports students in developing the key skills required for the Cambridge International AS Level English General Paper (8021) for examination from 2028. We are working towards endorsement of this title for the Cambridge Pathway. The Student’s Book provides full coverage of the Cambridge International AS Level English General Paper syllabus (8021) for examination from 2028 and has been written and reviewed by a team of experienced international teachers. The Student’s Book provides a practical structure for teaching the course, with easy-to-navigate, well signposted sections, chapters and units. The chapter structure highlights the skills that need to be developed and shows how build them in manageable steps before helping students to apply them to different tasks. Provides equal support for developing essay writing and comprehension, through the clearly delineated chapter structure and the exemplification of both sets of skills. Contains regular annotated examples of successful writing and analysis, with peer-assessment activities to support students in evaluating and editing their own responses. Support for improving written communication is integrated throughout, to help students harness text cohesion, sentence structure and grammar to express their arguments more effectively. Delivers a truly international course, encouraging students to read widely on a range of contemporary, global themes to develop their curiosity and engage with new perspectives. Supports students with English as a second or additional language through the clear, accessible tasks and explanations, glossaries alongside relevant texts, and the language support features throughout each unit. The course consists of a Teacher’s Guide, Student’s Book and a digital subscription on Collins Hub. (The Teacher’s Guide and digital subscription will not go through the endorsement process for the Cambridge Pathway).
